How Norwegian media rated Erling Haaland after watching him score in Norway's 5-0 win vs Moldova

Erling Haaland was on the scoresheet for Norway once again as they demolished Moldova 5-0 in their latest World Cup.

The Manchester City striker made an intelligent run inside the box to tap home a slick move from Norway and double his nation’s lead.

Erling Haaland was eventually taken off in the 78th minute, keeping in mind that his side go toe-to-toe against Israel on Tuesday.

Haaland will be motivated to spearhead Norway to the World Cup next year as they have yet to qualify for the competition since 1998.

All eyes will be on Haaland alongside Martin Odegaard to do so and against Moldova, they certainly made a statement.

The 24-year-old is certainly in form, with Owen Hargreaves singling Haaland out for being Manchester City’s one and only performer this season and he has stepped up for Norway once again.

Haaland’s record for his national team speaks for itself in any case, scoring 39 goals in 40 games.

But even so, Dagbladet handed the Norwegian a mere 6/10 match rating for his display against Moldova:

“The superstar was apparently playing half-heartedly. But he scored again. Of course.”

Nettavisen also gave Haaland a 6/10 rating, as they claimed: “Had a great chance after a quarter of an hour, but couldn’t get a proper turn on the finish. Made up for it soon after when he finished off a great Norwegian attack and is steadily approaching a goal average for the national team (39/40). Another good game from the vice-captain who was rested in the final minutes.”

Haaland admitted he wishes to improve his game but in his latest outing, he only touched the ball 20 times and for him to up his own standards, he would like to be more involved. But regardless, the two-time Premier League winner scored, created a chance and won two out of four duels.

Haaland did miss one big chance and against Israel, he would be determined to be more clinical in front of goal.
