Two Premier League sides look set to battle it out for the signature of Sean Longstaff this summer.

Now 27, with just one year remaining on his current deal, the lad from North Shields finds himself at a point in his career where he needs regular first-team action after falling out of favour.With that in mind, a fee now would be a fraction of what it was six years ago.
Everton’s interest has also been well documented and it’s thought David Moyes is also a big fan of Longstaff, with talkSPORT reporting on a potential move to Merseyside just last week.

Longstaff would depart the area with a heavy heart as a sale away from the Toon looks increasingly likely.
Sandro Tonali has become a key part of the Newcastle midfield since returning from his ban, starring alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton. Lewis Miley also needs minutes to continue in his development, and already has quite the task with the three aforementioned names.
As an academy graduate, Longstaff would represent pure profit from a PSR perspective and this summer will be the last chance for the club to get a decent fee before his contract expires in 2026.
Now in the peak years of his career, Longstaff will be in pursuit of game time and can definitely offer first team football at a Premier League side.
