Former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas believes the Miami Heat should begin their rebuilding process by having Pat Riley step down as the team's president.

Former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas shared an intriguing perspective on the Miami Heat’s future during an appearance on the Gil's Arena podcast.

Miami Heat / Schedule

Arenas believes it’s time for Pat Riley to step down as Heat president and for the team to begin its rebuilding process.

"Pat Riley has to fire himself. No one’s complaining about Spo (Erik Spoelstra), but it’s still like he’s overseeing Spo. He’s the Godfather," Arenas said.

The Miami Heat are currently sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 29-41 record, and their future looks uncertain after trading away their six-year star, Jimmy Butler. Additionally, the team doesn't appear to have much exciting young talent coming through as well.
