On Wednesday, Eugene “Big U” Henley was arrested in Los Angeles.

His arrest on serious charges and ties to the Rollin’ 60s Crips in LA recently made headlines. He is, however, getting attention for his connection with the Los Angeles Chargers:

Interestingly, Big U is also the father of LA Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley. After a quiet rookie season, Daiyan surged onto the scene in 2024, racking up an impressive 147 tackles.

He’s becoming a key player for the Chargers and counted as one of the most promising young talents in the NFL. Fans admire his skill and dedication, rallying behind him as he works to establish his career.

After his arrest on Wednesday, Eugene Henley Jr., also known as Big U, appeared in court on March 22, 2025, facing serious allegations on RICO charges.

Henley had recently posted a video declaring his innocence prior to surrendering to federal authorities. According to him, he is innocent and he was just trying to help his community.

He will remain in custody until his detention hearing on March 31 following his court appearance.

Prosecutors allege Henley misappropriated donations from Developing Options, an anti-gang charity he founded, and exploited it to conceal illicit activities.

In addition, he is suspected of involvement in the murder of an aspiring rap musician associated with his record label, Uneek Music, in 2021. Henley faces a possible life sentence in federal prison if convicted.
