The Philadelphia Eagles have already said goodbye to one aging cornerback on the roster this offseason.
Darius Slay - after a five-year run with the organization that included a Super Bowl title - signed a free agent deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being released by Philly in a salary cap move.
Philadelphia could still look to bring in a veteran cornerback to help their young secondary. Even after the signing of former first-round pick Adoree Jackson. With the trade of Chauncey Gardner-Johnson to top the list of offseason moves, the Eagles can use all the help they can get in the secondary.
And a player like former All-Pro Stephon Gilmore may be the perfect kind of move.
Gilmore is a two-time First-Team All-Pro and former Defensive Player of the Year. Best known for his time as a lockdown cornerback with the New England Patriots, the former first-round pick is looking for a new home after recent stays with the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.
He will be 35 years old when the 2025 season starts, though, and is clearly not the same player he once was just a few years ago.
So what should the Eagles do?

As things stand right now, the depth at cornerback leaves Philadelphia looking for more currently. They certainly have enough with young stars like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean to keep their top ranking.
But they need to figure out what they have in Kelee Ringo and Jackson before thinking of bringing in a player like Gilmore.
The time may not be right currently, but that doesn't mean it will stay that way.
