The NBA and professional wrestling have gone hand-in-hand for decades, with many of its biggest names appearing in promotions like WWE, WCW, and AEW.

Dennis Rodman was famously a member of nWo in WCW while Shaquille O'Neal has made many appearances in WWE and AEW.

Now, it seems that a modern NBA star wants to put himself alongside those legendary names.

Speaking to Landon Burford, Detroit Pistons point guard Cade Cunningham revealed that he would love to work with either WWE or AEW in the future since he's a huge fan of pro wrestling.

"Yeah, it is possible for sure," Cunningham said (per Fightful). "I think WWE is fire. I grew up loving WWE... I would be down to do it for sure.

Cunningham wouldn't be the first modern NBA star who made an appearance with WWE. Recently, Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton was seen at the pre-show for Royal Rumble 2025.

Another time, Haliburton faced off against New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson on an episode of Monday Night Raw.

Needless to say, there is plenty that Cunningham can do if he decides to work with WWE or AEW.

This season, Cunningham has averaged 25.7 points, 9.2 assists, 6.1 total rebounds, one steal, and 0.7 blocks per game. He is heavily responsible for Detroit becoming a playoff contender after finishing in last place last season and earning his first NBA All-Star nod.
