Controversial former reality TV contestant Katie Hopkins has told Garron Noone not to apologise and said the crowds are cheering him on after he deactivated his social media this week after posting a video about immigration.
The social media star from Mayo shut down his TikTok account where he had 1.7million followers, as well as Instagram where he also had a large following, after a backlash to a video posted following Conor McGregor’s White House appearance.
In the video, he said immigration was an issue in Ireland and people were taking advantage of systems here.

He went on to tell his followers that the “Government continually does not allow people to express their concerns about that”.
His comments caused a social media storm with people either weighing in to support or criticise his views.
He posted a follow-up video saying he was not anti-immigration and said “f**k the far-right and f**k the far everything”. He then shut down his social media.
Outspoken former reality star Katie Hopkins, who is no stranger to controversy, rushed to Noone’s defence on Saturday urging him not to apologise.

Hopkins who first rose to prominence on the UK version of the reality TV show The Apprentice and was previously labelled as the “most hated” woman in Britain.
She was previously let go from a radio presenting job after calling for a “final solution” in dealing with terrorists. The term was used by the Nazis to refer to the Holocaust.
Numerous politicians have rushed to Noone’s defence including Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín who said he should be allowed to speak.
Sinn Féin TD for Waterford Conor McGuinness said he hoped Noone was back up on social media soon.
“It has to be okay to talk about issues in a respectful and responsible way. We need to be able to listen, agree, disagree and respond without jumping down each other’s throats.”
Singer Imelda May also backed Noone in a social media post, urging him to “come back”.
Tristian Tate, brother of controversial influencer Andrew Tate, also backed Noone, saying “Garron Noone did nothing wrong.”
The Tate brothers face charges in Romania of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. They deny the allegations.
Tristan Tate has previously backed and given donations to anti-immigration activist Philip Dwyer who was this week convicted of trespassing at a centre for International Protection applicants in Co Clare.
In his original video, Noone said: “There absolutely is an immigration issue in Ireland. That doesn’t mean that people feel like we shouldn’t take the refugees that we’re able to take. It doesn’t mean that people feel like people shouldn’t be able to come here for better opportunities.”
After the video started receiving a backlash as it was shared widely online, Noone attempted to clarify his remarks by saying that immigration needs to be discussed openly.
