Chelsea are at a crossroads when it comes to Jadon Sancho and how they want to go forwards with the winger in their plans.
The England international is on loan from Manchester United, with it understood that there is an obligation for the Blues to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
However, his performances have not impressed greatly since making the move. Chelsea chiefs are disappointed with Sancho and the impact he has had on the side.
There has even been talk of Chelsea paying a significant fee to not take up the obligation to sign Sancho this summer, and instead focus their efforts on signing another new winger.
Despite being a frequent starter on the wing for the Blues, the 24-year-old has not provided a goal or assist in 2025, and Chelsea have suffered in attack as a result.

Jadon Sancho tipped to suit wing-back role
His former coach, Dan Micciche, believes there is another position on the pitch where he could make a positive impact on either Chelsea or United.
He told The Sun that a switch to wing-back could suit his game more, whether that is at Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford.
He said: “Jadon would have to play as a left-sided No.10, I couldn’t see him play as a wing-back. Can he play there? Yeah, absolutely. I think he could play for Ruben Amorim in his system.

“It might actually suit him more – in terms of freeing him up. He wouldn’t be hugging the touchline as much, he would in middle of the pitch more and would have more options when he gets the ball.”

Sancho upset at his own form
It has not gone unnoticed by the player himself that he is struggling at the moment, as his run of not scoring has extended to 17 games.
Sancho spoke honestly on his form, saying: “Step by step. I know I can do better, especially in front of goal, it’s annoying not to score, but I know it’ll come. You just have to take time and be patient, but step by step. We’re very happy with the points.”
With Mykhailo Mudryk unavailable for selection, opportunities have been frequent for the Englishman to establish himself as a key member of the side, although with Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson set to return after the international break, those chances could begin to evaporate quickly.
