Trade speculation continues to swirl around Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert, with recent analysis pointing to the Indianapolis Colts as a logical landing spot for the veteran pass-catcher.
According to Pro Football Focus analyst Max Chadwick, the Colts stand alone as the NFL team with tight end listed as their top positional need following free agency. Chadwick noted that "adding a premier tight end could round out a young and promising receiving corps" in Indianapolis.
While the Colts might consider tight end prospects like Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland in the upcoming draft, Goedert represents a proven commodity who could immediately bolster their offense. However, financial considerations would play a significant role in any potential deal.
Goedert, who turned 30 in January, enters the final year of his four-year, $57 million contract extension and is due $15.5 million in 2025. NFL insider Josina Anderson reported in March that Philadelphia hopes to receive at least a fourth-round draft pick in any Goedert trade.

The veteran tight end has been a reliable target for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts since 2021, including back-to-back 700-plus-yard receiving seasons. Though his production dipped slightly in 2024 (42 receptions, 496 yards in 10 games), Goedert remains one of the league's more consistent tight ends.
Philadelphia's recent signing of tight end Harrison Bryant to a one-year, $2 million contract could signal their willingness to move on from Goedert. The Eagles found tremendous success with a similar low-cost free-agent signing last season when linebacker Zack Baun developed into an All-Pro performer on a modest one-year deal.
