Everton could potentially be a stumbling block for Liverpool ahead of the Merseyside Derby at Anfield after the international break.

The Reds will take on the Toffees on 2 April in the Premier League as they look to cement their place at the top of the table.

David Moyes’ team shattered Liverpool hearts in the reverse fixture as home fans rejoiced after a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw.

James Tarkowski’s goal at Goodison Park on 12 February was the stuff of legends as the English defender scored in the final minutes of the game to steal a point from Arne Slot’s team.

Liverpool will find it difficult against Everton at Anfield

Moyes will make things difficult for Liverpool when the Blues visit Anfield, Kevin Nolan says.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The former midfielder, who now manages Northampton Town, believes the Toffees won’t make things easy for the Reds.

Nolan has predicted Moyes’ team to be a stumbling block for Slot’s side as they shift their focus to winning the league title.

Speaking on talkSPORT (9:29), the ex-West Ham United ace said: “[Moyes] will make it difficult. I’m sure every Everton fan now… It’s going to be interesting because Liverpool have gone from people talking about quadruples to now just having the league.

“The focus of one trophy, which is the main one, one all Liverpool fans want. But I don’t think it’s going to be easy when Everton go there.”

Moyes to continue unbeaten run against Liverpool at Anfield

Moyes has been brilliant since his return to Everton, opening up a significant gap with the relegation zone since replacing Sean Dyche.

The Toffees are on an eight-game unbeaten run in the English top flight after drawing 1-1 against West Ham at Goodison Park on 15 March.

As things stand, the Blues are 15th in the Premier League, level on points with Tottenham, and 17 points ahead of 18th-place Ipswich Town.

Despite Beto being the only fit natural striker at the Merseyside outfit in recent weeks, Moyes has managed to bring the best out of the squad.

The Toffees are set to move to Bramley Moore Dock next season, and The Friedkin Group (TFG) will undoubtedly be delighted about not playing Championship football at the new stadium.

Liverpool have been dominant against the Blues at home, winning the last four of the five Merseyside derbies at Anfield.

The Toffees are in high spirits, though, and with the Reds’ most important players out on international duty, Moyes will certainly look to exploit Slots’s team after Newcastle United beat them in the Carabao Cup final.
