Newcastle United paraded the Carabao Cup around St James’ Park directly in front of Sunderland fans.

Eddie Howe led Newcastle United to their first major trophy since 1955 by beating Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final last weekend.

The celebrations at Wembley were iconic, and Newcastle fans will be looking forward to March 29th when the club plan to continue the celebrations throughout the city.

Newcastle will host a bus parade and a public celebration on the Town Moor next Saturday, but some fans have already got a glimpse at the club’s latest silverware.

Newcastle United parade Carabao Cup at St James’ Park

While there are 14 Newcastle players on international duty this week in the men’s team, the women’s team have taken over St James’ Park for a fierce derby clash.

Newcastle United’s women took on Sunderland in a Barclays Women’s Championship clash on Sunday afternoon, and the club decided it was an ideal time to show off the Carabao Cup.

Newcastle won the match 1-0 with Shania Hayles scoring the winner in the second half.
