Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos has hinted that he could hold crunch talks regarding his future at the end of the season.
Andrey Santos is on loan at RC Strasbourg, and he will return to Chelsea in the summer. The Blues have not indicated what the future holds for the player, and he has been linked with an exit in recent months.
The Brazilian midfield prospect has now revealed that he will hold talks with Chelsea after the 2024/25 season ends and then decide on his future ahead of the summer transfer window.
“A lot of people send me news, but I don’t think there’s anything concrete like that,” he said to ESPN Brasil before adding, “No one has come directly to me or even talked to me. I think it’s in Chelsea’s hands, it’s in my agents’ hands, it’s in my hands too. I think that right now we’re focused, I’m focused on these other games that are left which are very important here for Strasbourg.
“And when the season ends, we’ll see what happens, we’ll all sit down and talk to, to make the best decision for, for both sides. Oh, of course, of course you want to play for, for the biggest clubs in, in Europe. It’s, um, a very big club, Chelsea. Of course, you dream of this moment, but I think at the moment the best thing is to have a clear head, to finish the season here and to make the best decision when the season ends.”
Andrey Santos is enjoying his time in French football, and he has done quite well for Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg this season. If he continues to develop, he could be an important player for Chelsea in the long term.
The Brazilian midfield prospect is highly rated, and he has a bright future. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are willing to be patient with him and give him the chance to fulfil his potential in the coming seasons.
