Patrick Surtain Drops 12-Word Message on Broncos’ Bo Nix

After leading the Denver Broncos to a 10-7 record as a rookie, quarterback Bo Nix made believers out of many across the league. That includes those in Denver's locker room.

In a recent interview with DJ Siddiqi of RG.org, two-time All-Pro and 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II praised Nix, saying, "He's a great teammate, a great person as well, a great leader."

Surtain added, "You could tell when he is on the field, he has great confidence that he possesses out there and it shines bright each and every Sunday."

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Nix's teammates have confidence in him, but it speaks volumes when someone of Surtain II's stature speaks up. Nix's confidence will only grow from this public support from Denver's best player.

Nix is looking to build off a terrific rookie season that ended with the organization's first playoff appearance since 2015. He finished with 3,775 passing yards, 29 touchdown passes, and only 12 interceptions in year one. He completed 66.3% of his pass attempts and had a 93.3 QB rating.

As good as those numbers are, Nix added another element with his legs. He routinely broke containment, easily picking up extra yards and crucial first downs. He totaled 430 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground, including 41 drive-extending rushing first downs.

Heading into year two, the Broncos are banking on Nix taking another leap in his development. They've added another weapon in tight end Evan Engram, and they're widely expected to address running back and wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft. If that leap comes, the rest of the NFL should be concerned.
