Bills Trade For Cornerback In New NFL Mock Draft

The Buffalo Bills are a roster that already looks built and prepared to compete for a Super Bowl next season. The only things left to do are to fill out some needed depth along key position groups that can be accomplished in the Draft.

One particular position group that could use an infusion is the cornerback room. While Christian Benford continues to be something of a driving force, Buffalo is expecting to lose Rasul Douglas in free agency.

With the trade of former first-round pick Kaiir Elam, the Bills can use a youngster to help address some of those concerns with the pass defense.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com at least predicts so. In his mock, the Bills will move up in the first round with the Minnesota Vikings to select Azareye'h Thomas out of Florida State.

"Buffalo moves up to secure Thomas' 6-1 1/4, 197-pound frame, giving up their two fourth-round selections to Minnesota in the deal, " Reuter wrote of the proposed trade. "The Vikings could stay put and take a defensive back themselves, but they currently only have four selections in this draft, so adding two early Day 3 picks might be worth the risk of moving down the board a bit."

Any help in the secondary with teams like the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens in the conference makes all the sense in the world for Buffalo.

Trade-ups have also worked before for the organization - that's how they got Josh Allen in the first round of the 2018 Draft.

Thomas is a perfect fit for the kind of player the Bills want on defense. They may just have to move up to get him.
