Leroy Sane news: Arteta wants to sign ex-Man City star

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Leroy Sane and their head coach Mikel Arteta has full support to their decision.

Leroy Sane back in the Premier League soon?

Arsenal are interested in Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane as per reports. And the Gunners manager is keen on the move. They will recruit a new forward over the summer. They are seeing a poor display in the attacking line in this campaign.

No Gunners player has scored more than ten goals this season yet. With nine, Kai Havertz is the Gunners’ top scorer in the Premier League. A lot of questions were asked over Havertz’s scoring ability. But the north London side have clearly struggled in front of goal since Germany international Havertz was sidelined due to injury and will miss this whole campaign.

The north Londoners have also not been good enough on the wings this season. Bukayo Saka has been watching from the stands due to injury as well. And Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling also failing to impress.

Bild claims the Gunners are searching to add some more strength to their team in attacking positions. And they have targeted Bayern Munich’s Sane.

Leroy’s time at Man City

The 29-years-old has been at Bayern for five seasons since joining in 2020. He has played over 200 times for the Bundesliga club.

He is a one of the most talented players in Germany and has played 33 times across all competitions. Although, he sees a very less game time under Vincent Kompany in Munich. If he does not sign a new contract sooner, the winger will become out of contract in June. And he will be free for a move.

As claimed by Bild, the Gunners are interested in signing the German. They believe he would be a great move for Arteta’s team. The manager has worked with the German during his time at Man City.

Sane isn’t the only player to be linked with a move with Arsenal. RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is also an option..
