The footballing world was taken aback somewhat when Frank Lampard made a surprise move to Manchester City after leaving Chelsea. Previously, he had been synonymous with the success of the London club, having spent 13 trophy-laden years at Stamford Bridge, winning almost every trophy on offer.
He then linked up with the likes of Vincent Kompany and David Silva and hit six Premier League goals, with two being game-winning strikes and one coming in the emotional clash with Chelsea, as the two sides faced off for the title across that campaign.
The legendary midfielder looked to be the only thing holding back his former side from galavanting to the title, but Jose Mourinho's side eventually got the better of City as they won the league for the first time in four years. His goal against his former side was undoubtedly one of the moments of the season as he was left close to tears.
This was Lampard's final season at the top level before he headed to MLS. He managed 38 games in all competitions at 36 years of age and waved goodbye to English football with a goal on the final day of the season in the 2-0 win over Southampton.

Frank Lampard: Sergio Aguero 'Picked Up the Most Training Ground Fines' at Man City
The pair played together for one season in the 2014/15 campaign
In an old clip from Soccer AM, John Terry and Lampard were both being quizzed in a quickfire question round on varying topics from their footballing careers and teammates. One of those was which former teammate had picked up the most fines.
Lampard quickly brought up Sergio Aguero from his brief spell at Man City:
"At Chelsea, I can't remember but with Man City it was Sergio Aguero.
"He picked up a fair few, he didn't care he would just stroll out to the training pitch five minutes late. They would say 'you're fined' and he would say 'ok, no problem' and then he would say wait until the weekend, and I'll score a hat trick and everyone will be happy."
Having played against Aguero for Chelsea during his time at both Atletico Madrid and City, he knew all about his quality from afar. His quality shined through in the one season Lampard managed at the club, as he netted 32 goals in 42 games while also providing nine assists.
However, it was a difficult season overall for the Argentinian, who failed to secure a trophy as they went out early in both domestic cups, lost in the first knockout phase of the Champions League to Barcelona, finished second to Chelsea in the league, and also lost to Chile in the final of the Copa America in the summer.
Nevertheless, his time at City was full of goals and success. He earned five league titles before leaving the club, six League Cups and even one FA Cup and departed England as one of the highest scorers in Premier League history with 184 goals. One record he does hold is that he possesses the best goals-per-minute ratio in league history with 0.67, slightly edging out Thierry Henry's 0.68 figure.
While he is set to fall behind Mohamed Salah in the coming weeks (the pair are level at the time of writing), he sits among the very best. His former teammate Lampard sits just one place and seven goals behind the striker, despite being a central midfielder.
After leaving City, he earned what looked to be a dream move to Barcelona, and he even netted in his first appearance in the El Clasico against Real Madrid in a narrow defeat. However, he was taken to hospital a week later with chest discomfort that was later diagnosed as cardiac arrhythmia. After the advice of doctors, he called time on his career months later, bringing an end to his professional career after 18 years, aged 33.
