Trey Amos is an experienced prospect who worked his way up from playing in the Sun Belt conference. Amos played for Louisiana-Lafayette for his first three seasons before transferring to Alabama in 2023 and then finishing his career at Mississippi in 2024. Amos is a veteran cornerback prospect who plays with a fearless demeanor and can make plays in coverage as well as make stops in run defense.
Playing in coverage Amos has aligned in the full allotment of roles, such as zone, off-man, press-man, and press-ball techniques. However, his length suggests that Amos is in man-to-man press coverage. He does a great job staying with the receivers on short to intermediate routes and uses his length to catch up to receivers on deep routes.
When playing in run support, Amos plays physically, consistently speeding up and making tackles, being able to shed blocks on the perimeter to engage contact with ball-carriers. Amos, with his skill set, is probably best suited to play in a more zone-heavy scheme such as Cover 2 or Cover 3, so teams can use his aggressiveness jumping routes, and physical style of play knowing that he has the help on the back end.
In his final season, Amos recorded 50 tackles, 13 pass breakups, three interceptions, and a forced fumble, making First-Team All-SEC in 2024. He is ranked No. 41 in the Top 50 prospects, according to NFL Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah.

Trey Amos is a solid prospect with almost all the tools that you need for a boundary cornerback in the NFL. He is a physical cornerback who is a plus in run support, has the football IQ to know and learn the defense, knows where his help is on the back end, and will not make many mental errors. His elite downfield speed is lacking, but his length and physicality can more than make up for those shortcomings while playing in the right scheme. Amos is capable of playing a role in the secondary right away and could end up being a solid starter sooner rather than later.
