The Tennessee Titans have worked hard this offseason to conceal their intentions with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Based on their moves during the free agency period, however, the picture is becoming a bit clearer. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Sportscenter that the Titans' new regime is a big fan of Miami quarterback Cam Ward and that he is very much in play for the first overall pick.
"The Titans certainly will have their calvary over there at the (Miami) Pro Day," said Fowler. "And the sense around the league is that there is some momentum for Cam Ward at No. 1 overall."
Will Levis is the only quarterback currently on the Titans' roster who has any significant experience as a starter in the NFL. New general manager Mike Borgonzi brought in veteran backup Brandon Allen this offseason, who has played with head coach Brian Callahan before, but he was not brought in to be the team's answer under center.
Ward is the best quarterback in the 2025 draft class and has high-end traits that would indicate he can be a top-tier starter in the NFL. He threw for an incredible 4,313 yards and a Divison I-best 39 touchdowns in his final collegiate season.
Tennessee may have a multitude of issues, but nothing can turn a franchise around like a competent young quarterback. He is the easy choice at No. 1 for Callahan and Borgonzi.
