When every Man Utd contract expires amid Kobbie Mainoo talks as four deals up in 2025

Manchester United are locked in contract talks with key midfielder Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United look set to lose four players in the summer for free as a quartet of Red Devils stars come to the end of their respective deals at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are all in the final months of their contracts at the club and it appears a decision has been made on all four players, as they all prepare to move on come the end of the season.

Eriksen spoke publicly about his future this week while on international duty with Denmark while Evans and Heaton are 37 and 38, respectively and are not set to earn any extension. Lindelof is also poised to move on, with Ruben Amorim’s selection of Ayden Heaven in recent weeks signalling where the Sweden international comes in the central defensive pecking order.

United hoping to extend Kobbie Mainoo’s deal

It emerged earlier this month that United are in talks about extending Kobbie Mainoo’s deal at the club. The midfielder’s current contract runs out in 2027 but he is said to want a bumper pay-rise after his breakthrough into the senior squad. Reports are the England international wants £180,000 per week in any new deal.

It has led to reports last week that Mainoo could be one of the players United look to move on this summer. It is not a move that would go down well with the club’s fanbase. Mainoo’s sale would be accounted as pure profit when looking at profit and sustainability rules as he is an academy player. It is something that would boost United’s transfer budget this summer with the club needing to sell players before they can buy the targets that Amorim wants.

Mainoo was linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea in January but Amorim has already made his stance clear on the player. He said at the end of January: “I want players like Kobbie and [Alejandro] Garnacho. The focus is that we have to improve our academy. And you have to bring more [through]. That is something that all the clubs in England have to take advantage of. The players that come from their academies.”

When every Manchester United contract expires

Most United players have the option for an extra year in their contracts, which can be triggered by the club. However, not all contracts have an added 12-month option and the list below only accounts for current expiry dates, and not any potential one-year extensions in the club’s favour.
