The Los Angeles Lakers were thrilled to get superstar forward LeBron James back from a six-game absence due to a groin injury on Saturday night. Ahead of their upcoming game against the Orlando Magic, the Lakers issued an announcement on James' status for this clash.
While James' return was a welcome sight, it didn't help Los Angeles on Saturday, as they suffered a stunning 31-point upset defeat at the hands of the Chicago Bulls. The loss was certainly a tough pill to swallow, but it was more important that James made it through the game healthy, which he indicated afterwards he managed to do.
"I just take it day by day. I hope it's behind [me], but I don't want to go too far in the future," James said of his groin injury.
Even though James made his return to action, the Lakers are going to play it safe with him, as the playoffs are quickly drawing near. If he feels good enough to suit up, though, chances are he will, and it seems like he will play against the Magic, as he's probable to take the court for this contest.
"The Lakers say LeBron James is probable for Monday night's game at Orlando," Marc Stein shared in a post on X.

James has remained as proficient as ever for the Lakers, despite turning 40 years old this season. In 59 games, the future Hall of Famer is averaging 24.9 points, 8.5 assists, and 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting 51.6% from the floor.
Los Angeles will be eager to get back on track after an ugly outing saw them allow the Bulls to score 145 points on them in their latest loss. Tip-off for their battle with Orlando is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday.
