Chargers Draft Pair of National Champion Offensive Weapons for Justin Herbert in Latest Mock

With the passing of the first wave of free agency, many teams are now fully committed to the draft.

While the Los Angeles Chargers will assuredly sign more players between now and the beginning of next season, they are one of the teams laser focused on the draft.

Ladd McConkey, the team's second-round draft pick last year, was arguably the best rookie receiver with over 1, 000 yards last season.

This was a much-needed boost for the Chargers' pass catchers, who produced very little outside of McConkey.

Los Angeles signed tight end Will Dissly to a three-year deal last offseason, but he didn't produce as much as the team had hoped. A recent mock draft would fix this issue, bringing a coveted tight end to Southern California.

Colston Loveland

Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling predicted that the Chargers will select Michigan's Colston Loveland, widely considered to be the second-best tight end in the class.

The 2024 National Champion would provide stability to a franchise who's been seeking it at the tight end position since the retirement of Antonio Gates.

The former Second Team All-American accumulated nearly 600 yards in just ten games last season to go along with five touchdowns.

Those numbers might not jump off the page, but when you consider the fact that Michigan was one of the worst passing offenses in College Football last season, they become much more impressive.

To add fuel to the fire, everyone knows head coach Jim Harbaugh's admiration for Michigan, which gives Loveland an even better chance to land with his former coach.

His stock has risen tremendously over the past few weeks, but if he's still available at the Chargers' pick, the selection a no-brainer.

Quinshon Judkins

Easterling believes that in the second-round, Los Angeles will bolster their backfield by taking Quinshon Judkins. The Ohio State running back is an electrifying player who can create a viral highlight in the blink of an eye.

He's not the fastest or strongest back, but he has a knack for breaking tackles and is incredibly elusive.

The decision to draft Judkins becomes a bit complicated when you consider that the Chargers just signed a running back last week in Najee Harris.

But the contract is only for one year and it's cheap enough to where Los Angeles can cut ties with him or just move him to the backup spot without Harris feeling an overwhelming sense of entitlement.

If the Chargers were to draft the National Champion, they would add another top-tier playmaker an offense becoming ripe with them.

If the real draft board falls how Easterling predicts, the bolts might be considered the biggest winners of the draft.
