The ministry added that field teams had also detected 233 unlicensed clothing collection booths, the locations of which were relayed to the Kuwait Municipality for removal.

The violations, furthermore, included raising donations without official licensing. In this regard, 24 restaurants and companies were caught collecting donations on social media, according to the ministry.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry was notified to take action against those violators.

For instance, a restaurant was found to have unlawfully called for donation to support an Iftar (fast-breaking) project. Twenty-two violations were registered against donation-raising websites that were reported to the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority.

Six more violations were detected inside mosques, including adverts for collecting donations and charitable projects without prior coordination.

A box was seized for collecting cash donations without licensing, a violation that was reported to the Ministry of Waqfs and Islamic Affairs.

The month of Ramadan is a peak time for benevolence and good deeds.
