NFL Insider Calls Aaron Rodgers ‘Safe Bet’ to Sign with Steelers

The "Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh" story is growing old. It has to be growing old for the Steelers, who are still searching for their 2025 starting quarterback.

While reports continue that Pittsburgh is still in the running-and possibly the leader in the clubhouse-for Rodgers's signature, other teams are moving on-sort of.

The New York Giants are still hopeful for Rodgers' services, but they signed journeyman backup Jameis Winston for two years and $8 million. That's not starting quarterback money, so they must still have plans to sign a veteran and claim to still hope Rodgers signs there.

Per Pro Football Talk on Sunday, a "source in the general vicinity of those who would be in a position to know" said it's a "safe bet" that Rodgers will sign with the Steelers.

Rodgers spent more than six hours at the Steelers facility on Friday, but that doesn't mean anything in the world of Aaron Rodgers.

So, until they aren't, the Steelers are still in the running to sign Rodgers, according to some reports, and the favorites, according to others. The question is, when?
