METCALF WORKOUT
The Steelers broke precedent by trading for DK Metcalf and giving him one of the biggest contracts in team history a couple weeks ago. It’s good to see him already getting after it in the gym, not that his work ethic in the weight room was ever in doubt with that physique.

WELSCHOF ENGAGED
Julius Welschof was on the Steelers’ roster last season as their international pathway program player, which means he didn’t count against their 90-man offseason roster limit or their 16-man practice squad limit. He figured to be in that same role again this year while they continue to develop him.
He has some happy news on this Sunday as he got engaged to his girlfriend recently. They posted pictures on social media to mark the occasion.
Welschof will join a long list of Steelers who recently got engaged, married or had children. It’s an excited season of life for the men in Black and Gold.
PUPS OF PITTSBURGH
It’s National Puppy Day, apparently. Several Steelers players posted photos with their furry friends via the Steelers’ page on X. My favorite is Calvin Austin III, who is listed at 5-9 and 162 pounds, with three massive pitbull mixes. I think I know what Austin does in his free time. I have just one myself and they are a lot of work!
