After missing the last three games with a moderate right ankle sprain, Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis will be listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics, the team announced Sunday.
They say that the 28-year-old ” has made significant progress in the return to play process.”
“Sabonis was a full participant in practice today and will be listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game versus the Boston Celtics.”

Having made third-team All-NBA in each of the last two seasons, his eligibility for 2024-25 is still on the line. A fairly new league rule requires players to have participated in at least 65 games to be eligible for large end-of-season honors, including All-NBA.
Domantas Sabonis has played 58 games this season, but two do not count towards his total, as he did not reach the 15-minute minimum in the two instances where he was injured mid-game.
With 12 games remaining in their season, the center must log at least 20 minutes (or 15 if he were to get injured) in nine of his team’s 12 matchups.
Coming back Monday night against the Celtics, who the Kings defeated in Boston earlier this season, would bode well for his eligibility odds and Sacramento’s chances of winning.
More Kings coverage on Sactown Sports
As strong as the Sacramento Kings looked for three quarters on Saturday night, they fell twelve minutes short of securing another impressive win on this homestand.
Sacramento led most of the night, but a late charge from Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks erased the Kings’ 14-point lead and created just enough space late to secure a 114-108 win at Golden 1 Center.
For the second-straight game, Sacramento (35-35) failed to hold a double-digit lead as they followed up a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bulls with a defeat to Milwaukee.
