Aston Villa are back in Premier League action after the international break
Aston Villa have the chance to bring in some new players this summer when the new transfer opens for business. They also have the opportunity to let some individuals head out the exit door as well should they wish to.
Unai Emery’s side are currently sat in 9th place in the table with nine fixtures left to play this season. They are only four points off the top four.

They remain in the Champions League and have their sights set on European glory. The Midlands outfit are also still in the FA Cup.
Aston Villa eye Ademola Lookman move
Aston Villa are ‘keeping tabs’ on Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, according to CaughtOffside. League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest.
Lookman, 27, has been a key player for his current club since joining them in 2022 and they could face a battle to keep hold of him amid attention from elsewhere. He is under contract until June 2026.
The Nigeria international, who has 27 caps to his name, rose up through the academy ranks at Charlton Athletic and broke into their first-team as a youngster. Everton signed him in 2017 and he spent two years at Goodison Park before heading over to Germany to join RB Leipzig.

He returned to England with Fulham and Leicester City during his loan spells before Atalanta came calling. The London-born man has scored 50 goals in 109 games in all competitions but his long-term future is up in the air.
Aston Villa could see him as someone to bolster their attacking ranks. If they managed to get him, he would inject more quality into their squad.
Aston Villa’s Unai Emery reacts to latest win
Aston Villa won 1-0 away at Brentford in their last league outing with Ollie Watkins scoring the winner. They then beat Club Brugge 3-1 in their latest Champions League clash.
Speaking after their victory against the latter, Emery said: “I’m very proud of our supporters, our work, the players, the club, the workers because we’re increasing our demand. In increasing our demand we have to get the objective we are facing in the high level we have to get. This season, playing in the Champions League was a very good opportunity when we started and we’re really focusing a lot in the Champions League about how we can be a protagonist.

“Today we competed against one team and performed very well. I’m very happy with how we are in the way and we’re going to play a quarter-final against PSG. This is two matches more for our supporters to be with us, to share with us their emotions and we’re going to try to prepare as best as possible to continue like we are doing.”
He added: “In the second half we changed completely and we were speaking at half-time about how we could change how the match was going. We did and the players took responsibility to get our plan strongly to dominate like we did in the second half.”
