Shaquille O’Neal Slammed by Former Top 5 Pick Over Detroit Pistons Comments

The Detroit Pistons beat the New Orleans Pelicans at Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit on Sunday, March 23, improving coach JB Bickerstaff's team to a record of 40-32 on the season.

The Pistons' win once again sent a message to the rest of the NBA that one of the league's most proud franchises is a force to be reckoned with once again.

Detroit's evening in downtown Detroit was accompanied by a message from one of Magic Johnson's most accomplished former teammates, an ex-top five pick who took aim at Shaquille O'Neal's recent comments on Detroit's franchise.

Gregory 'Special K' Kelser, former Michigan State Spartans star and current Detroit Pistons broadcaster, shared his thoughts on the O'Neal's recent comments that he doesn't watch Detroit, the team that beat he and Kobe Bryant's Lakers in the 2004 NBA Finals.

Kelser was taken fourth overall in the 1979 NBA draft and is an outspoke defender of all things Pistons.

"We can't even give Shaq any consideration for his comments," Kelser said. "You're supposed to watch all the teams in his seat, and for him to say he doesn't watch the Pistons, they're one of the biggest stories in the NBA this year."
