Jadon Sancho’s long-term future at Chelsea looks to be in serious doubt.
While Sancho only joined Chelsea from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal last summer, the Blues have an obligation to sign him permanently if they finish above 14th in the Premier League table.
However, Chelsea buying the winger before selling him is not being ruled out, so his short career at Stamford Bridge could already be coming to an end.
It could help facilitate the arrival of a new wide man. Chelsea have already been linked with Antoine Semenyo, for example.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen interested in Jadon Sancho
Sancho has already had two separate spells at Borussia Dortmund, one on loan, and it looks like there is a possibility of him heading back there this summer.
According to GiveMeSport, Dortmund and their Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen are both monitoring the 24-year-old’s very complex situation.
While Chelsea could sell Sancho to Dortmund, they could also end up signing one player from the German club.

Chelsea have Jamie Gittens on their radar, and the England U21 international would be able to take up Sancho’s spot on the left if he departs.
The Blues sent Carney Chukwuemeka to Signal Iduna Park in the last transfer window so should be on good terms with Dortmund.

How much Chelsea will have to pay to terminate Jadon Sancho agreement
While Chelsea do have an obligation to buy Sancho as things stand, it is still not guaranteed that they will sign him permanently.
A recent report from The Athletic has claimed that Chelsea can pay United a £5m penalty fee to get out of the deal.
It had been thought that sending Sancho back to Old Trafford would cost the Blues a lot of money. But with that not being the case, it would now not be a surprise if they did decide against signing the England international permanently.
It is disappointing that this is the situation that Chelsea find themselves in with Sancho because he got off to such a bright start to life in a blue shirt.
