Lamine Yamal has taken fresh aim at Rafael van der Vaart after Spain’s Nations League win over the Netherlands.
The teenager reacted to pre-match criticism by the former Dutch player by [pulling his short a bit lower](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/3/23/24392465/barcelonas-lamine-yamal-hits-back-at-rafael-van-der-vaart-criticism-after-scoring-for-spain) after scoring in the [3-3 draw against the Netherlands](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/3/23/24392351/spain-netherlands-pedri-scores-decisive-penalty-to-secure-nations-league-semi-final-spot) that saw the game go on to a penalty shootout.
Yamal actually missed his spot-kick but saw Spain go on to win 5-4 in any case and took to Instagram after the match.
“Pants down, a goal, missed penalty AND IN THE SEMIFINALS HEHEHEHE GO SPAIN! ”
Van der Vaart is known for his outspoken views and his latest comments clearly did not go unnoticed by Yamal.
The Barcelona teenager’s team-mates were quick to respond to his post too. Fermín Lopez, Hector Fort, and Ronald Araujo are among those to have liked the post, while Ferran Torres replied: “Turn them down a bit more, please!”
