Andrey Santos Makes Feelings Clear On Chelsea Return As He Issues Denial To Romano Story

**Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos says he dreams of making his debut for the Blues but he does not know whether he will be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans next season.**

The 20-year-old has had an excellent season with Strasbourg, and journalist Fabrizio Romano [has reported](https://www.facebook.com/fabrizioromanoherewego/photos/-andrey-santos-will-be-part-of-chelsea-team-next-season-the-plan-is-clear-zero-d/1290322152895273/?_rdr) that the player will return to Stamford Bridge this summer to become part of the first-team squad. However, Santos claims no decision has been made yet on who he will be playing for beyond the summer:

“Of course, you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea. You dream of that moment but I think, at this moment, you have to have a clear head, finish the season here (Strasbourg) and make the best choice when the season is over.”

“I don’t think that a specific decision has been made. No one has come to talk to me directly. Everything is in the hands of the club and my agents.”

Santos has been in great form

-----------------------------

The Brazilian has scored 9 goals and provided 3 assists in 26 appearances for Strasbourg this campaign, and he was even given the captain’s armband for the match against Nice back in November.

Santos’s manager Liam Rosenior has praised the midfielder, describing him as an “exceptional player”, singling out his professionalism and eye for goal.

Chelsea need more options in midfield

-------------------------------------

The fact that Maresca has been picking Reece James in the middle of the park in recent games does suggest that the Italian would like some reinforcements in that area of the pitch.

Santos is at his best deployed as the most attack-minded player in a double pivot. If he does return to Chelsea, he would be in direct competition with Enzo Fernandez for a place in the starting eleven.
