On March 19, 2024, Consul General of China in Johannesburg, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, attended the Bursary Beneficiaries Event under the Education Empowerment Initiative in conjunction with the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. Speaker of GPL, Ms. Morakane Mosupyoe, beneficiaries and managers from University of Johannesburg, University of the Witwatersrand and other institutions also attended the event.
Mr. Pan said in his speech that China and South Africa are committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation in various fields, especially education and youth development. He further added that Chinese Consulate General is willing to strengthen communication with all sectors to promote the building of a high-level community with a shared future and better benefit the two peoples.
Speaker Mosupyoe and representatives of the institutions and beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the support and assistance from the Consulate General, and pledged to make more contributions to South Africa-China friendship.
