On March 20, Ambassador Fan Yong met with Ms. Keganele Malikongwa, Acting Commissioner General of the National Planning Commission. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening friendly cooperation between China and Botswana.
Ambassador Fan said that since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and Botswana, the two countries have witnessed fruitful practical cooperation in various fields. Last year, the two Heads of State jointly announced the establishment of a strategic partnership during the FOCAC Beijing Summit. China is willing to share with Botswana Chinese path to modernization and stands ready to work with the National Planning Commission to enhance exchanges and communication and support Botswana in exploring its own path to modernization suitable to its national conditions.
Ms. Keganele Malikongwa spoke highly of China’s economic and social achievements and hope that Botswana and China could have more exchanges on practical cooperation and synergy of development strategies so as to achieve common development.
