Man Utd return to action when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League fixture next week.

Nottingham Forest have been handed an injury scare ahead of their upcoming clash with Manchester United in the Premier League. Ruben Amorim's side are next in action when they travel to the City Ground a week on Tuesday in their first match following the March international break.

Forest have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season and currently occupy third place, while they have also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. They will face Brighton in the cup this weekend with a place in the semi-finals at stake before league matches against United and Aston Villa next week.

It is geared up to be an unforgettable couple of months for Forest, though the task has been made even harder by a recent fitness scare and Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo will have watched on in concern when a star player was forced off during international duty earlier today.

Chris Wood injury scare ahead of United clash

Forest striker Chris Wood suffered an injury scare on international duty as New Zealand became the second side to qualify for next year's World Cup. The 33-year-old was forced off in the second half of their 3-0 victory over New Caledonia in the OFC World Cup qualifiers final.

Wood landed awkwardly after he took a shot in the match and was unable to continue before he limped off the pitch as he was substituted. The striker did return to the pitch to celebrate qualification with his teammates, though it is unclear the severity of his injury issue.

Espírito Santo will provide an update on Wood when he speaks to the press later this week, with the hope that their star striker will be available for a pivotal few weeks in the season. Wood has scored 18 goals in 29 Premier League games for Forest this season and has been a key performer in their bid for Champions League qualification.
