Robson, Denis Irwin and Andy Cole held ambassadorial roles at United and were paid a retainer for their services, but it's said their salaries will be 'significantly reduced' from next season.
Since gaining control of football operations at United, Ratcliffe has introduced a whole host of cost-cutting measures and Sir Alex Ferguson is set to step down from his ambassadorial role in May.
Robson is one of United's most iconic players and made nearly 500 appearances during his 13-year association with the club. He has represented United around the world in his role and he recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Manchester United Foundation.
'Captain Marvel' has been present on United's pre-season tours and has provided the club's partners, sponsors and supporter groups with stories and his thoughts on ongoings at the club.
Those club-related appearances are set to be reduced, but Robson remains a respected figure who supporters want to hear from and he shared his opinion on Amorim last week.
Speaking to The Mirror, via BetSelect, Robson said: "Amorim has got a massive job on his hands. Sir Alex had a similar rebuild. But when he came into the club, he brought Eric Harrison, Brian Kidd, and Nobby Stiles onto the staff.
"He said 'go out and bring me the best young players from around Manchester'. He ended up with the Class of 92 - and they came into a team that had already won the Premier League a couple of times.
"From then on, the club achieved unbelievable things, but that was Alex's vision. You could see the boss planning it. He brought in great players with great attitude - and that's why he was so successful as a manager. I think it's a lot tougher for Amorim because of the competition.
"Manchester United were massive back in the day, and people weren't talking as much about clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal. But now, there are a lot of massive clubs with big owners. You've got a lot more competition now than Fergie had back in the day when I was playing."
Ferguson relied on Robson to lead United to great success during his time at the club, while Irwin and Cole were also key players before taking up ambassadorial roles.
