Report: The exact amount the public have spent on Everton's £800m Bramley-Moore Dock stadium…

Everton are preparing to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season.

The Toffees only have four games left at Goodison before the move to the new state-of-the-art Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.

Everton held a second test event at Bramley-Moore on Sunday afternoon and for the most part, it was largely a success.

However, some fans did criticise the traffic around Everton’s new stadium and the public transport into the ground was chaotic.

So, clearly there are still some improvements to be made before the grand opening in August, but there’s little doubt it’s one of the best facilities in the country.

And, it’s just been revealed exactly how much of the public’s money was used to fund the £800m ground.

How much did the public spend on Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium?

Everton’s new 52,000-seater stadium is set to bank the club £40m extra in revenue every year, so it’ll be transformative for their finances.

The Friedkin’s are currently seeking a naming rights deal worth £100m across a 10-year period and Japanese car manufacturer Toyota has been mooted as a potential buyer.

Bramley-Moore will stage a number of concerts and entertainment events, too, so it’s clearly a great landmark for the city of Liverpool not just Everton football club.

And, it’s just been revealed that the public did actually spend around £15m on the new ground, according to the Daily Mail.

It’s understood some of that cash was spent on restoring a Grade II listed Victorian hydraulic tower and engine room building located on the perimeter of the site.

Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium to host England Rugby

Everton’s new stadium is set to be one of the venues used to host this year’s Ashes series with England Rugby in action against Australia.

The exact date has not yet been confirmed but it’s expected to be in September and it’ll give the Toffees a PSR boost.

Bramley-Moore will allow Everton to spend much more freely in the transfer market as PSR issues are set to be a thing of the past.

Everton will be one of the biggest commercial earners in the Premier League from next season onwards.
