Former Crystal Palace defender James Tomkins has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 35-year-old has been without a club since leaving the Eagles as a free agent last summer.
Tomkins joined the South Londoners from West Ham, where he made 243 appearances, in 2016 under Alan Pardew.
The centre-back featured 136 times for Palace, playing under Roy Hodgson, Patrick Vieira and Oliver Glasner during his time at Selhurst Park.
Tomkins wrote on his social media pages: “Thank you to my amazing family for making my career even possible and their continued support over the years.
“Also thank you to all the brilliant coaches and players I have worked with throughout my career.
“I was lucky to play for three clubs, all with amazing fans who make football what it is. I will miss the game, but it’s time to announce my retirement.”
