Jarrad Branthwaite faces an uncertain future at Everton despite David Moyes steering them away from danger.

Branthwaite has played a key role in helping Everton battle relegation this season, starting in each of their Premier League game since 9 November.

The centre-back has helped the Goodison Park outfit remain unbeaten in their last nine league games, helping them keep two clean sheets and providing an assist in the process.

However, that was not enough for the 22-year-old to earn a place in Thomas Tuchel’s first squad as the England manager, thus settling for a place in the Under-21s squad instead.

That may prove to be the tipping point for Branthwaite as he is now expected to further consider his Everton future, according to Sky Sports News.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The broadcasters reported on Monday (24 March) that the central defender could seek a move away from the Merseyside-based club after being left out of Tuchel’s England squad.

He will not be short of options if he decides to leave Everton, with Manchester City and Tottenham among those to have kept tabs on him this season.

Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in taking Branthwaite to Spain, while Manchester United remain keen despite having multiple bids rejected by the Toffees last summer.

Everton’s arch-rivals Liverpool have also tracked the youngster this season.

Therefore, Moyes’ side are facing a battle to keep Branthwaite, who is contracted to them until 2027, beyond this season.

Branthwaite to join Goodison exodus

Everton are already in a tricky position ahead of the summer as they have 13 players running out of their contracts at the end of the season.

While five of them are loan players Carlos Alcaraz, Jesper Lindstrom, Jack Harrison, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja, the list also includes the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye.

That means the Toffees may have to overhaul their midfield and attack ahead of their move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

Losing Branthwaite on top of that may be too much to handle for the Blues, who are also expected to be without Ashley Young and Michael Keane next season.
