Summary
The EAFC 25 La Liga TOTS is expected to be released on Friday, May 23rd.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are expected to dominate the squad.
Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Lamine Yamal are all but certain guarantees.
The 2024/25 La Liga season has had everything required. Drama. Chaos. Controversy. Barcelona and Real Madrid are going head-to-head for the title, and it feels that the competition has not been this exciting since the legendary days between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
It is unclear who will win the title with 10 matches remaining, but thoughts are starting to turn towards deciding the Team of the Season (TOTS) in real life and EA Sports FC 25. Lamine Yamal, Barcelona's 17-year-old sensation, feels all but guaranteed to be included, whilst Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham will likely join him.
In EAFC 25, the promo celebrates the league's best-performing players from the season, giving them boosted cards that are all considered 'meta'. We have decided to try and predict the La Liga TOTS, which is expected to be released on Friday, May 23rd. We've outlined the main starting 11 and a selection of substitutes who may feature elsewhere.
Defenders
Oblak is Atletico Madrid's only player in the starting XI
The starting 11 is, unsurprisingly, dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid. They have been the two best-performing teams in the division and, while Atletico Madrid are not far behind, they only have one player in the starting 11 — Jan Oblak. He's been an ever-present name in previous awards like this.
As of the March international break, Oblak has 12 clean sheets, the most in the league, and he's been at the heart of Atletico Madrid's well-performing defensive line. He is now 32 years old, but the Slovenian international shows no signs of slowing down soon.
Ahead of him, Barcelona have three inclusions — right-back Jules Kounde, centre-back Pau Cubarsi and left-back Alejandro Balde. Compared to previous seasons, Kounde and Balde have not been on fire, but they are still doing enough to help Barcelona sit top of the table.
Cubarsi, who is remarkably just 18, has been an ever-present star for Barcelona at the back — and he is now considered one of the world's best teenagers. He partners Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger at centre-back, who is not only a world-class defender but also a valuable leader to manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Midfielders
Pedri partners two Real Madrid superstars
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are blessed with midfield genius. Barcelona often look to their academy, La Masia, for ideas — and they seem to spawn a new young superstar every year. Pedri was that player a few years ago and now, after a few serious injuries, he is back to his best.
While he's only picked up eight goal contributions in 26 La Liga matches so far, the 22-year-old Spaniard is on a technical level way above anyone else on the Mediterranean coast. He can dance around the opposition elegantly whilst also finding his teammates with pinpoint passes.
He's joined by Real Madrid's Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham, both of whom are considered two of the world's best midfielders. Valverde, 26, has acted as the glue to Ancelotti's system, breaking up opposition attacks whilst also helping transition the ball forward.
Bellingham, 21, hasn't hit the form he showed during the 2023/24 campaign, where he scored 19 goals in 28 league matches. However, the Birmingham City prodigy has still picked up 13 goal contributions in 22 matches, often popping up at the right moment to change the course of the match for his side.

Attackers
Three of the world's best combine
Choosing the three forwards to go in our predicted La Liga TOTS was an unbelievable struggle. La Liga is home to some of the world's best forwards, and the competition felt at the top of the pyramid is significant. As highlighted later, the attacking substitutes who narrowly missed out are still world-class, and that's because Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior are chosen for the starting 11.
Yamal, who was named Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024, is somehow only 17, but he is continuing to perform at a level very few can believe. He's picked up six goals and 11 assists in 24 La Liga matches so far, often combining with teammates Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha in the final third.
He is joined by Real Madrid's iconic duo. Vinicius was the main man in the Spanish capital until last summer, but that changed when Mbappe arrived. While they could easily let personal attitudes get in the way — and sometimes they do — they seem to work well together consistently. Mbappe has scored 20 league goals; Vinicius has scored 10. They, alongside Yamal, are in the running to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

Substitutes
Raphinha has to settle for a place on the bench
The La Liga predicted starting 11 is full of superstars — and, remarkably, the substitutes' bench is the same. It is unclear how many TOTS cards will be released by EA Sports FC 25, but it is expected that some will be within the main squad release and others will be available via Objectives and Evolutions.
Raphinha is one of the unluckiest men in the world to not be within the starting 11. As of the March international break, he has scored 13 and picked up eight assists in 27 league matches, with the Brazilian acting as a key component in Barcelona's world-class attacking trio. Lewandowski joins him on the bench; he has scored 22 in the division, the most of anyone, but it feels likely that Mbappe will pip him to the main spot as he is 'meta' in EAFC 25, whilst the Polish striker isn't.
Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid stars Marcos Llorente, Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez — who only joined from Manchester City last summer — will likely receive special cards, as players at 'smaller clubs' like Dani Vivian and Oscar Mingueza will be considered. We have outlined our full list below.
