The Whites have been looking at several profiles of players for different areas of their squad and the club are working on identifying targets for the summer.
Midfield is likely to be a priority and they have been linked with a move for Kalvin Phillips but they are also looking at other midfielders. However, one such player is now set to stay put at his current club beyond the summer transfer window.
Leeds United target won’t be changing clubs in the summer
Alvyn Sanches has been heavily linked with a move this summer following an impressive season in Switzerland at Lausanne Sport this term.
His performances also earned him a call-up to the Switzerland squad and he made his debut for the national team against Northern Ireland on Friday.
However, what should have been a dream day for him, turned into a nightmare when 30 minutes into his debut he suffered a devastating knee injury.
Lausanne confirmed on Sunday that the midfielder has ruptured his ACL and he is now expected to be out for several months.
A summer transfer is now off as the midfielder won’t be fit to return to action until at least the start of next year and is staring at a long road to recovery.
Leeds will have to consider other targets
The Whites were said to be keeping tabs on his performances and were considering getting their hands on him in the summer if they get promoted.
However, those plans will need to be shelved and Leeds will now have to look at other players as they look to bolster their midfield options in the summer.

Leeds will likely keep an eye on his recovery and maybe watch him again when he returns to the pitch in 2026 in order to assess his fitness.
However, for the next summer transfer window, Sanches’ name will have to be struck down from any shortlist as the midfielder will not be playing any football before next year.
