Sean Dyche’s sacking at Everton felt like a long time coming after a tough few years at Goodison Park on and off the pitch.
Although David Moyes was expected to improve things, the increase under the Scotsman has been staggering with the Toffees pulling themselves far away from relegation.
Dyche has been respectful of his successor and accepts it was probably the right time to leave Goodison but he has admitted noises he’s heard from the blue half of Merseyside have riled him up.

Dyche makes frustrated admission
Although it was Dyche’s time to go, he went with fairly good wishes from the Everton fans who respected what he did for the club in a hard time that was tinted by off the pitch issues.
Since Moyes has come in though, he has stolen the show having lost just one of his 10 Premier League games in charge so far.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
When Dyche was let go from his job, the Blues were just one point above the relegation zone and they are now all but safe with 17 points separating them from the job.
Manager Win rate
Sean Dyche 30.95%
David Moyes 36.36%
Sean Dyche and David Moyes’ Everton records in all competitions.
However, while there is usually respect between the two managers, Dyche has admitted there’s one thing he feels he deserves more credit for.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (23 March, 1:12pm), Dyche said: “The other thing they forget about football is from a manager point of view and I’ve had a little bit already at Everton, ‘oh he’s really thrived already under Moysey’ and it’s like yeah we’ve only been there for two years working with him.
“Do you know what I mean? And they think they’ve just suddenly arrived.”
Moyes just what Everton needed
You can understand some of Dyche’s frustration. Although the Blues were struggling to perform on the pitch, in the weeks leading up to his sacking they did take points from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City showing there was some quality in the side.
However, if you look at the likes of Jake O’Brien who has talked about his struggles under the management of his former boss, you have to give Moyes credit too.
The change of O’Brien under the new manager has been a revelation and he has been like a new player for the Toffees while all of his teammates also look more confident to play.
Dyche had to oversee some tough times at Goodison which is why it felt like a change was needed even after the takeover by The Friedkin Group which has certainly proved to be the case.
As a move to Bramley-Moore Dock approaches at the end of the season, the future on Merseyside looks bright under Moyes’ management.
