Although, the news is unconfirmed, it makes a lot of sense that Liverpool would be aiming to get a top opposition club for this part of their pre-season schedule. Newcastle United have an appreciating reputation and possess a strong fan base all over the world.
The news of Liverpool’s summer preparations showed up after reports suggested that Liverpool had moved away from being a part of the Premier League’s Summer Series in the USA, with Everton, Manchester United, Bournemouth and West Ham already confirmed to participate in it.
The Reds spent most of their last pre-season at the club’s AXA Training Centre, which gave the arriving Slot and members of his staff, an opportunity to get in tune with the squad of players.
