Tottenham Women suffered their sixth consecutive defeat on Sunday, and Charlotte Grant’s performance left much to be desired.
Robert Vilahamn’s side have been all over the place in recent months.
After Barclays Women’s Super League defeats against Manchester United Women, Arsenal Women and Manchester City Women, Spurs would have been hoping to find some form with some more favourable fixtures.
However, they were handed their fifth consecutive loss in all competitions on Sunday 16 March as they were beaten 2-1 by Brighton Women in the WSL at Brisbane Road.
Things went from bad to worse as Vilahamn’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat to West Ham Women at the Chigwell Construction Stadium on 23 March.

And after her performance against the Hammers, Grant will no doubt be on the chopping block.
Grant lets Vilahamn down v West Ham
Spurs’ defeat against West Ham was their 10th in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season, and after watching on from the sidelines, Jessica Naz will be wondering what she needs to do to get a start.
Tottenham’s attacking players did not get going against the Hammers, with Grant in particular struggling to make any kind of impact on the match.
As per Sofascore, the 23-year-old managed to complete just 65 per cent of her passes and succeeded with zero per cent of her dribble attempts during her 63 minutes on the pitch.
In addition, Grant won just two of her six ground duels, lost her only aerial duel and also gave possession of the ball away 15 times. She also failed to provide an accurate long ball from her one attempt, while only managing one shot on target, before she was replaced by Naz.
Therefore, Vilahamn needs to ensure that Grant does not start against Leicester City Women at the King Power Stadium on Sunday (30 March).
Naz should start for Tottenham v Leicester
Spurs’ defeat against West Ham leaves them ninth in the WSL.
Barclays Women’s Super League Position Points
West Ham Women 8th 18
Tottenham Women 9th 17
Leicester City Women 10th 15
Tottenham have slipped down the WSL
As a result, something clearly needs to change, and Vilahamn should consider starting Naz against the Foxes, and leaving Grant on the bench.
