Shedeur Sanders Predicted to Replace $150 Million Four-Time Pro Bowl QB

One of the biggest questions entering the 2025 NFL Draft is which team will end up rafting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

There's no doubt that this year's draft lacks top-level quarterback talent, with Matt Miller of ESPN even giving zero a first-round grade.

That isn't necessarily going to stop many teams from trying to take one early and hope they strike gold, as Kyle Crabbs of The 33rd Team still predicts Sanders will go within the top 10, landing with the New Orleans Saints at No. 9.

"This pick may be a bit of a surprise - but the Spencer Rattler experience in 2024 shouldn't be a deterrent from the Saints drafting a potential starter if they feel Sanders can fit the bill," Crabbs wrote. "Getting a transition away from Derek Carr's contract will go a long way in the Saints getting out of such an extreme salary cap cycle, and Sanders feels like an admirable fit for Kellen Moore's offense."

In his two seasons with the Saints, Carr has been very productive. He has started 27 games and completed 564-of-827 passes for 6,023 yards, 40 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and a 98.8 passer rating.

However, he'll be 34 years old by the start of the 2025 season, and considering he has just two years left of his four-year, $150 million deal with the Saints, it's unclear if the team will want him back beyond that.

That's where Sanders could potentially come in and spend up to two seasons behind the four-time Pro Bowler, getting a better understanding of the NFL's playing speed and Moore's playbook.
