Nottingham Forest ready to hijack Arsenal’s summer plans

Nottingham Forest are plotting a huge offer in the summer transfer window. They have set their sight on Arsenal’s long-term target and can make a move very soon. The player has been superb this season and will have a new release clause activate this summer.

The star in question here is Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers. He is 25 years old and represents Brazil on the international stage. Cunha has been superb this season. He has scored 15 goals and picked 4 assists in 29 games across all competitions.

Arsenal have been linked with Cunha since a very long-time. They are said to have keeping tabs on the player since he moved to England in January 2023. Now, they have even better chance to land the Brazilian attacker this summer.

Andrea Berta will join Gunners as the new sporting director. The Italian signed Cunha for Atletico earlier and later sold him for a high value. He can once again convince the Brazilian to join them. But, the North London club have now been joined by their English rivals.

Nottingham Forest join the race for Matheus Cunha

According to TBR Football, Forest are keen to sign Cunha this summer. They are prepared to break their transfer record in order to land the Brazilian. Cunha recently signed new contract with Wolves. He now has €75 million release clause in his contract that will be activated this summer.

Wolves will be unwilling to negotiate below the player’s release clause. But, Forest can be ready to trigger the clause due to the fact that they are heading to Champions League football. As of now, they are on 3rd position in Premier League and are favourites to finish in top four.

On the other hand, Arsenal will like to stay optimistic in pursuit of Cunha. They do have other options available in the market. But, the Brazilian can play in various positions and he also has experience of playing on English soil. This will make him a key asset for Mikel Arteta.
