Manchester City stars have reportedly been 'privately worried' about teammate Phil Foden throughout the course of the 24-year-old's tricky campaign. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Foden's teammates have grown concerned about him, with it being claimed that he has 'appeared to have lost weight to the naked eye.' It was also suggested that some in the City camp were worried after the playmaker moved his family outside of Manchester to Northwich, which is approximately an hour car journey to the club's training ground. It was also revealed that in moving, Foden found himself closer to a lake for him to fish, a hobby that the England international is known to enjoy.
It was also mentioned in the report that Foden was suffering from mental fatigue at the start of the season after coming back from a heartbreaking Euro 2024, where England not only lost in the final, but Foden struggled to impress, having been forced out wide in order to accommodate Jude Bellingham. The attacking midfielder appeared for 45 minutes in City's opening day 2-0 win over Chelsea but was then not seen for a month due to an undisclosed injury problem.
Foden is said to be well aware of the criticism he has faced this season, with the report also mentioning that the Englishman reads a lot of what is written about him online, which is described as 'beginning to spiral out of control.'
