The Sacramento Kings are set to begin a harrowing back-to-back that will tip-off on Monday night against the Boston Celtics, but reinforcements could be on the way.
Although he was initially given a ten-day re-evaluation timeline, Kings center Domantas Sabonis (right ankle sprain) has been upgraded to questionable as the All-NBA big looks to return to face the Celtics.
Sabonis, who is six days into his planned ten-day window, logged a full practice on Sunday as Sacramento prepares for a back-to-back that features matchups against the defending champions on Monday and then the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

More on Domantas Sabonis
Getting Domantas Sabonis back against Boston could boost the Kings’ chances of snapping a two-game skid, one they would like to halt before things spiral even more out of control in the Western Conference Play-In race.
Entering play on Monday, Sacramento (35-35) holds a slim 1.5-game lead over Phoenix and Dallas for the ninth-seed spot and just 12 games to go.
Sabonis, who scored 23 points and grabbed a career-high-tying 28 rebounds during a Kings win in Boston on January 10th, needs to play in nine more games to qualify for NBA awards, including the All-NBA teams.
While Sacramento may get Sabonis back against the Celtics, Malik Monk (illness) is questionable after missing Saturday’s game against Milwaukee.
Devin Carter (illness) has also been added to the Kings’ injury report. Here’s a full look at tonight’s Kings vs. Celtics Injury report as Boston plays on the second night of a back-to-back:

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?
The Sacramento Kings will continue its season-long seven-game homestand against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.

Sacramento hasn’t defeated the Celtics at Golden 1 Center since February 3, 2021.
