Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has reportedly told friends that he wants to seal a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window, in a positive update for the Reds.
The 21-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s standout left-backs this season, providing a combination of defensive solidity and attacking quality for a strong Cherries side.
Kerkez’s ability going forward was never more evident than when he produced a stunning assist in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham earlier this month.
The Hungarian has emerged as one of the front-runners to join Liverpool at the end of the season, as the Premier League leaders look to bring in a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson, who has shown signs of creaking in 2024/25.
According to a new claim from Football Insider, Kerkez has told friends he wants to leave Bournemouth to join Liverpool this summer”, in a significant boost for the Merseysiders.
They have “have been in contact” with the defender’s representatives recently, in order to “kickstart the initial stages of a summer deal.”
Kerkez to Liverpool a perfect signing for Reds
Kerkez is exactly who Liverpool should be looking to sign this summer, with the Hungarian ticking so many boxes.
Just 21, he is still such a young player, albeit one performing with great maturity, and he possesses the energy from left-back that Robertson used to provide, registering five league assists this season.
Kerkez also knows Dominik Szoboszlai well because of their relationship at international level, with Liverpool’s No. 8 heaping praise on him in the past:
“Milos is a great boy. A crazy dude, in a good way. He is always positive and smiling,” Soccer News report him saying. Hopefully he can develop even further in England and become even more mature. He is aggressive, powerful and has so many qualities. A unique skill set. Bournemouth is going to get stronger because of him. Milos still has a great career ahead of him.”
There are other good left-back options out there for Liverpool in the coming months, from Fulham’s Antonee Robinson to Ajax teenager Jorrel Hato, but snapping up Kerkez should be considered priority business to get done.
