Araujo travels to Bolivia and won’t return early to Barca

Barcelona’s hopes of seeing Ronald Araujo return early from international duty with Uruguay have been dashed as the defender has been named in the squad to travel to Bolivia.

There has been speculation that Araujo won’t actually feature in the game, as it’s being played at altitude, and Marcelo Bielsa has admittted he will make changes to his team.

However, Araujo is on his way to Bolivia with the national team and may feature in the match on Tuesday.

The news is a blow for Barcelona as they prepare for a rearranged La Liga fixture against Osasuna on Thursday night.

With both Araujo and Raphinha due to play international games on Tuesday, it sees unlikely they will be able to feature on Thursday night for Flick’s side.

Pau Cubarsi is also a doubt with an ankle problem, although Inigo Martinez has given the team a boost by training with the squad on Monday and may be available.
