Are we on the verge of seeing Anthony Davis back on the basketball court?
It sure seems that way because New York Basketball is reporting that Davis has been upgraded to “doubtful” after being off the floor for six weeks due to injury.
The Mavericks will take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday, and every single win counts at this point in their very troubled season.

Mavericks fans were left shellshocked when they lost Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in the biggest trade of this generation.
But even though they were upset, they also grew a bit hopeful when they saw what Davis can do.
During his first game with the Mavericks, Davis posted 26 points and 16 rebounds.
It was a great start to his Dallas tenure, but he was unfortunately hurt in the game and has been out ever since.
Meanwhile, the team has continued to fall apart with multiple injuries across the roster, including a season-ending one to Kyrie Irving.
So now the team is clawing its way into Play-In contention, and many fans are calling on them to just give up for the year.
But it sounds like Davis will make his way back to the team and attempt to keep them in the running for the Play-In.
Even if the Mavs don’t reach their goal, it’ll give fans another chance to see what Davis is capable of.
If he stays healthy, Davis could be a huge part of the Mavericks’ future and their post-Doncic chapter.
A lot of people have counted the team out, but Davis’ return could be just what they need to keep hope alive.
