Chelsea's transfer stance on Noni Madueke is completely baffling after Behdad Eghbali's prediction finally comes true - opinion

It could be a very interesting summer for Noni Madueke and Chelsea going off what is currently being reported about the winger.

Madueke is out injured at this moment in time, but the 23-year-old was making an impact before he was sidelined.

In total, Madueke has made 23 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

However, his future at Chelsea has come into doubt a bit over this international break.

Chelsea open to selling Noni Madueke

Madueke has impressed many in the current campaign, including former Chelsea and England captain John Terry.

When initially asked to list his top three Chelsea players this term, Terry named Madueke.

Despite his improvement, though, the Blues look open to selling him in the next transfer window.

According to TBR Football, Madueke is one individual Chelsea will allow to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

They signed him from PSV Eindhoven in the 2023 January transfer window and after a slow start to life in west London, again, Madueke is now having a real influence on the pitch.

One person who will not be too disappointed to see Madueke go is Estevao Willian, who is set to link up with the Chelsea squad in the summer.

A Madueke exit could pave the way for Estevao to become a starter under Enzo Maresca.

Behdad Eghbali tipped Noni Madueke to become an important player for Chelsea

Other than trying to make room for Estevao, Chelsea selling Madueke is puzzling after the role he has played at the Bridge this season.

Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali were confident that Madueke could become a key player for the Blues, and the England international has become just that.

In a joint statement following Madueke’s arrival at the club, Boehly and Eghbali said to Chelsea’s official website: “We’re delighted to bring Noni to Chelsea. He’s an exciting talent who has proven his quality over the past few years with PSV, playing in a strong European league, and we are thrilled he has chosen to join Chelsea for this next stage of his career. We are sure he will form an important part of our team.”

With Madueke now an influential figure in this Chelsea side, why, then, is there a willingness to part ways with him this summer? It is a truly puzzling stance.
